Tennis Court

Presence Tennis School is the manifestation of a life-long romance with the sport of tennis. I learned tennis as a kid from Gavin Kampers of Challenger Tennis Academy in Parkview, Johannesburg, my older cousin James, and one of the walls of our house. Then I passed on the teachings, over a strip of ivy in the driveway, to my sister Emma, who went on to win multiple tournaments as a junior.
I represented Western Province at school level and coached tennis after university at Claremont Tennis Club. Thereafter, my specific interest and contribution has been to awaken a passion for tennis among young people in rural parts of South Africa. In the Transvaal I have introduced tennis to children in rural communities in Ga-Masemola (Limpopo), Groot Marico and Zeerust (North-West).
Returning to the Weskus (Cape West Coast) in 2024, I established the Redelinghuys Tennis Club and started a youth academy there. When Yzerfontein and Darling Tennis Clubs got wind of my coaching adventure, I was asked to offer my coaching services at those clubs as well. With close ties emerging between clubs under the West Coast District Tennis Federation, and with youth development a priority, stay tuned for the emergence of a stunning tennis circuit along the Weskus!
